LEGIS CORPORATION was founded in 1984 as a technical consulting firm in Houston,
Texas. In 1989 and 1990 we were among the first to evaluate industrial faciliies
in the Soviet Latvian city of Ventspils. In 1991 LEGIS was part of a team evaluating
business interruption potentials for 9 chemical facilities and refineries owend
by tthe Mexican oil group Pemex. In 1994 LEGIS was represented in a team evaluating
oil recovery efforts and the water supply for Almetyevsk in Russian Tataria.
In December, 1991 LEGIS CORP formed LEGIS BOOKS. Shortly thereafter
LEGIS BOOKS published it's first book, a spiral bound technical book about
safety. The following year, LEGIS BOOKS published a Macmillan Free Press reprint
of the acclaimed history of the nuclear test site: Under the Cloud: The Decades
of Nuclear Testing.
In 2000 these works were followed by technical book,
The U.S. Atlas of Nuclear Fallout Vol I: Total Fallout. Volumes III,
V, and a General reader Edition were published in 2001 and 2002. Second editions
are scheduled for publication in 2006. Other technical publications as well
as white papers on nuclear monitoring were published in 2005. Copies will be
